What is considered Healthy in this Modern age?

What is considered healthy when you have two very different scenarios on both ends of the health spectrum? You have a person who is beautiful to most and considered on the outside, a healthy woman. But the extremes of diet, supplement intake, and exhausting workouts that your body endures; all to present yourself worth for 3-5 minutes on stage for some else to judge. What are the long term effects for this yo-yo process?
And then there is Gabourey Sidibe, an up and coming actress that has made a mark in the movie "Precious". However, eyebrows are raising about if she will fall into the hollywood stereotype of being a thinner female or embrace the fact that her weight is a problem to the public eye. Indeed, Gabby is an overweight woman who is givin a clean bill of health. But my question is when does it become a concern? Yes, she is happy the way she is and I love that about her but at the same time she is causing harm to her body which may cause future health issues. As do both!!!

  1. Never new how these two completely different ladies health issues can be on the same level. It shows me that not only exercise and appearance are important but just how I should be more responsible for living a healthier life!! Thanks Sonya :-)!!!

  3. I never look at it like that...thanks Sonya. It really makes you think that it is not just about being happy with the way you look but being healthy. Do people know what being healthy really means.
