KETTLEBELLS

Kettlebells (KB) originated in Russia, alongside Olympic weightlifting is set to be an important method for strength and athletic development. The techniques are easy to learn, have very low risk of injury, and can be performed individually or in a group. The use of kettebells in everyday life translate into an increase in the ability to produce repetitively powerful whole body movements, while moving and lifting heavy objects. When it comes to athletic performance they are the ideal sports specific training tool because of their versatility, rotational power and development of agonist/antagonist cooperation.

Kettlebells when used properly, combine strength, flexibility, endurance, coordination and aerobic training. A great Kettlebell routine will give you tight strong muscles (without the bodybuilding look) while burning fat and boosting metabolism due to the high rep ballistic movements involved. You can combine unfamiliar exercises such as swings or cleans and snatches with the familiar moves like squats, lunges, deadlifts, shoulder presses and so on.
